How long does offer for compensation last

I was offered compensation for a mis sold endownment policy in 2004 but at the time chose to retain the policy as the company gave a promise to top up the final amount to nearer the target. My circumstances have now changed and i have requested a surrender valuation which is less than the amount I was offered in 2004 despite having continued to pay premiums. What I would like to know is whether the company are still liable to pay me the compensation they calculated I was due in 2004 or have I lost that since I chose to continue the policy?.

The offer they made in 2004 is not consistent with the standard redress methods. They only have to honour that for 6 months unless it was in writing what they would do.
As its non standard, no-one here can say what they will do. So, you will have to ask them.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
