Fixtureferrets - is it worth it?

In the current climate we are all more careful about not wasting money. I was just wondering whether people think sites like fixtureferrets are worth the £5.20 annual fee? I don't want to waste money on a site which might not be much use, but on the other hand, could it end up saving me a lot more than the £5.20 fee?

It's mentioned in Martin's supermarket shopping article. It's fixtureferrets.co.uk and tells you which special offers are currently on in British supermarkets and how much money you are saving. If you are not a member you have access to all offers with a saving of £1.00 or less but as a paying member you get to view the offers which save you over £1.00.
A good site but just trying to weigh up the pros and cons.Thank you to all posters :A0 -
Its according to what supermarkets you have near you. If you have lots it prob. isn't as free sites are okay. If, like us, you only have a Morrisons and a Somerfield it is. A lot of free sites don't do Somerfield. I then just look at other supermarkets when I'm going past.0

I have a fixture ferrets membership (have been a member for almost 3 years now) and it has more than payed for itself many times. Even through the offers I have found on Yorkshire Tea (the only tea I drink) it has payed for itself, which is how I justify buying expensive tea, by only buying it on offer.
The only thing I would say is that it is not updated as often as it could be - especially with Asda. Quite often there are pages and pages of offers on booze, but no real food.
If you do have a Somerfield near you, then they should send you out the offers weekly anyway, or they stick a leaflet in the local rag.We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
I was a member, but never renewed as I discovered that mysupermarket.co.uk do the same thing for free. They're designed for on line shopping and home delivery, but I use them to check out the offers in the supermarkets before I go shopping. They list all products, including sections for the offers, and allow you to compare between supermarkets too.0
