Converting Vouchers to Cash....tips?

Hi,

I have just taken a faulty TV back to Argos and been given £300 in a gift voucher. Problem is that the TV I want is £60 cheaper elsewhere. How can I turn my gift voucher into cash?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

if you're on pay as you go, you could use it very slowly as phone credit...otherwise you could sell it on ebay but it may only sell for 80-90% of the value xXx

  • If you were given the vouchers in place of the TV then demand your money back. Faulty goods are not as described so don't let them fob you off.

If they were given vouchers, it probably means they didn't have proof of purchase!

There are several reasons gift vouchers are issued for refunds... if they paid by vouchers in the first place, if they paid by card and the card was no longer in use, if it was an insurance claim and as Torizia said, if they had no proof of purchase.

It's got nothing to do with the TV being faulty.

After the OP has sent the delivery by special delivery, paid for envelope, petrol to post office, etc. He'll be making a saving of a couple of quid if he's lucky.

I heard a cheeky little rumour that if you brought an item and part paid card and vouchers, then got a refund for whatever reason. All the money would be refunded to the card! Can anyone else cpnfirm this? I am in the same boat and have £277 of vouchers that I need changing to cash!
  • No, you would be refunded exactly how you paid.
  • may be a long shot but could you not go in store and see if anyone in there wanted to buy them for face value if they were buying goods?
