Cardiff hen night.

Options
Hi all, my first post so be gentle!

I am endeavouring to organise my best friends hen night for mid may. We only want to stay away for the saturday night and am struggling to find ideas for cheap things to do during the day.

We are having a burlesque theme so the dancing lessons that are available would be ideal but are a bit pricey, I also would appreciate ideas for good restaurants and clubs to party the night away in.

TIA Clair.

There is lots to do in Cardiff Bay - nice restaurants/bars etc, although some of them can be a bit pricey. I think some of the bay cruise boats do specific hen/stag 'booze cruises' too.

How about one of the open top bus tours that go from the castle? Or a tour of the Millennium Stadium?

In the city centre, Tiger Tiger is a great club that also has a restaurant section, and their VIP/group booking service is good. If you're really going for it with the burlesque theme, there is a 'certain type' of club (iygwim) on St. Mary Street, although it keeps changing its name so I wouldn't have a clue what it's called now!

If you haven't found somewhere to stay, the Etap and Big Sleep hotels are generally quite cheap, as is the city centre Travelodge - but it's on top of a bar so can be quite noisy!

Just to point out - you may already know but the Urdd Eisteddfod is at the Millennium Centre for a week in May, so things are likely to get booked up quite soon!

  • you might have more luck posting on the wales board. Is there anywhere in partiular you want to vist or things you want to see?
  • check this website for the Cardiff Party Boat in Cardiff Bay, it sets sails from the city centre:
    www.hms69.com

If there is a Bank Holiday they sail 4-7 on Saturdays which are always busy during the summer... they have a gallery so you can see what other people got upto and so that you know what to expect!

My friends tell me its very easy to book online too
    Should be good!

I had my hen do in Cardiff Bay, we went to a lovely chinese restaurant and then to Salt. We didn't do anything too organised but my girls made sure i was thoroughly embarrassed. Playing a game where i was given a necklace of "targets" that i had to have a picture taken with. This was fun and i wandered around the bay area asking to have pictures with random men!

All good fun and in Feb! Cardiff is a great choice, good luck :)
