Self Assessment Tax Return query

I have been self employed for a few years, though stopped working in Mar 07 due to pregnancy and I haven't worked since. I received maternity allowance and once baby arrived in Jun 07 I received child tax benefit. Do I need to do a self assessment to declare this? Also I am unsure if I will go back into this work - maybe just very occasional if I do, so should I inform tax office of this too? Also I am still paying NI contributions, even though I haven't worked since Mar 07 - should I still be paying this?
Many thanks in advance for any help

NO requirement for a Self Assessment return and you should not be paying Class 2 contributions since March 2007.
