Done It! I'm officially an undischarged bankrupt!

Hi all,

Well it's all done and it went ok. For once in a long time I was early, don't know how that happened, and I had to sit in the waiting room until the general office opened up at 10.

The security guard, bless him, remembered me, the girl in the general office remembered me and not to be outdone the court usher remembered me. OMG had to go through with the BR, if I end up going back to that court one more time they'll be offering me tea and biscuits, hee, hee :rotfl:

So girl in general office checks my form, no probs just a sub-total I've forgotten, checks my fee exemption and, shock, horror, I'm not exempt so have to find another £150, panic think don't have that have to come back later, much, much later when she says, fill this bit in and put your total debts (£32,700) in the expenses colum, therefore you can't afford the fees, hey presto magic back on the BR stage again!

Back to the court usher, wait 2 mins, into judge (who possibly recognised my face as this would be my fifth appearance in his court oooooops) who said sit down while I look at your form, hmm you are living in rented, I said yes, he said so do you want me to approve this then, I said yes please and there you go I was back out in the waiting room.

Girl in general office realises she's not taken my £345 off me so is panicking but I'm cool, hand it over - this is the most awful part seeing all that cash going in one huuuuge lump - then she says I'll just get the OR's office on the phone, 5 min phone call to lovely lady called Alison who says I'll get my pack in 7-10 days, they've no interest in my bank account, I can drive my car until they think whether they want it or not and gave me her direct phone number if I've got any worries or questions!

So then I'm sent packing, all done. Sat in car stunned. This took just under one hour. Fab.

There you go, I could not have done this today without the help and support from many on this site and I thank you very much, you are all stars.

Guess, now I'm technically a debt-free saver! hey how good is that, I can save!

    Well done.

OR's also read these boards so you may want to remove your OR's name. As they wouldn't have to be a genius to recognise you from your BR date and debts.

Maybe its me being cynical but they can then check all your other posts......

Well done, but, I hope you don't mind me asking, how come you are so well known in the court?

Sounds like you had lots of lovely people to deal with at the court, praying ours will be that nice this Friday.

    Fantastic applepie,

I often think to myself how funny it is that we still all get so worked up over the day and it is always a lot easier and more straightforward than we dare to hope. And then I realise that this is probably a good thing as it comes as such a pleasant surprise.
Well done you..... are you relieved?
Nice celebration drink for you tonight!

Nice one applepie&custard ... life begins at BR ;)
  • Sorry bout that, I'm just so pleased that that is over, have amended post and taken name out, didn't think about it really.

And, unfortunately they remember me so well at court as last year was fighting the repossession of our home, to cut a very long story short, we had a cash buyer for our home but the mortgage company we were with (no names) would not allow the sale, they had already started repossession proceedings and had added a mega-wallop in fees, charges, interest, anything else they could think of to add, including, probably their xmas party, that there was not enough to pay them off and the sols and estate agents. So the CAB helped me take them to court and I think it was an unusual case, well the lady at CAB had to read up on how to do it so guess they don't do it that often. But it was back and forth to court, when in the end our cash buyer got fed up and said how much to pay everything, god bless him, which ended the whole fiasco.

Glad it all went well for you today, and that the court looked after one of their regulars :D
