would this count as the car is not mine???

hello as most of you know im having my car took off me.

my dad had bought my previous car and i have the reciept for that one and he used the money to get me this car (but i couldnt find the reciept). i told the OR on the interview that i had sold my previous car and used the money to buy this one as he asked what i did with the money so does the reciept i found count that the car was bought for me and because it broke i used the proceeds of that car to get this car. my new car is in my name but at my dads address as he didnt know my postcode so can prove that aswell as i found the log book

sorry abit confusing but what do you think???

Is the receipt for this new car in your Dads name????

The registered keeper (you) is not neccessarily the legal owner. Problem is, you have already told the OR you bought this car, not anyone else.
  • i cant find the reciept and because it was payed in cash.

but i told him i used the money from the sale of that car to buy this one would that not count? as it was bought as a present but he bought a money pit so used the money to buy this one

Sorry - muddled with which receipt you had.

You cannot prove then who bought the car they are planning on taking? If the old car was sold and the new one bought for cash, there is no way to prove the old was sold to buy the new one and no proof that someone else could own the new one.

    Sorry.

If its a money pit anyway, can you not let it go and buy another? Small cars can be cheap, especially now.
  • think i understand. may just ring them and see anyway, nothing ventured

im am thinking of letting it go anyway but everyones skint at the moment and its only really my nan getting about thats putting me off letting them take it. it wouldnt bother me if it goes as ive become abit of a hermet lately anyway basicly cold weather/skint and lazyness so dont really go out unless i absolutly have to

    thanks skylight
