    can you make overpayments without penalty? if you can, why not pay a chunk off, but keep some back in case you need it?

    The solicitor that we have our deeds with do not charge for storage. I guess they assume that you will use them when you need any solicitor work doing. We have our wills with them and will probably use them if we bought or sold again. I think that this is quite common.

    Storage of deeds is no longer necessary, since they are stored electronically with the land registry.
    In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:
