Wouldn't touch Kiss Players with a barge pole. Had a DP-1000 followed by a DP-1504. Suffered Kiss with buggy firmware updates and playback problems for 2 years. Bought a £20 Targa DivX player and realised just how rubbish and overpriced KiSS players were.

I agree I paid a good sum of money for my Kiss DP-1000, it lasted just 12 months and then would not play discs!!! Stay away from KISS.....very overrated!

My cello 815 from sainsbury is getting old and the display is going so I need a nice dvd player that plays DIVXS files so what is best that has some support as cello has 0.0% support.

I have a DP-1000 which does not do Qpel.
Does this one do Qpel?
Anyone tried the multi-region hack on the scan site?

Does the Targa one (is this the Lidl £19.99 one!) do Qpel. My local Lidl sold out The Lidl one came with a 3 year warantee. The Dp-1000 buttons no longer work after the latest firmware I have to use the remote to open and close the unit. Also crashes with some movies and the DP-1000 needs a cold restart.

The Targa DP-5100x does Qpel and almost everything else I throw at it (I would say about 95% success) and is easily multi-regioned. The KISS used to refuse to play around 50% of my DivX movies and would lock up quite regulary (along with other little anoyances).
