Well it is no longer expected to come ashore at Newhaven - more like Dungeness. Anyway, the contraband has already been reported to The Receiver of Wrecks so you had better get in quick:rotfl:

That's a shame - I know a few people who could have put that to good use in Newhaven...
Oh well, good luck to those who have the carpentry skills to make something useful from it wherever it washes up!

  • wouldnt it be easier to let the looters clear up any beach wreckage, rather than be a total jobsworth and spend ££ on security police etc, trying to stop/warn/catch any liberators, like when another ship ran aground on UK shores, a year or so ago?

i remember one guy wheeling away a high end motorbike.. though that apparantly was just for 'safe keeping', after he realising his face was being shown on national tv..

I'm not that far from me (Ramsgate is about an hours drive if that). Shame you have to report taking it though ;)

On the news tonight an official said that people were welcome to go and help theirselves but they MUST report it to the recievers ;)

(in other words they haven't got the resources to guard the beaches so they're hoping that at least SOME people will be honest ;) )
