Bedroom Makeover

I'm thinking of giving my bedroom a makeover and fancy going monochrome, white with black detailing to keep the room feeling light & bright. I'll need 2 or 3 King size duvet sets, 2 or 3 sets of Oxford pillowcases, 2 or 3 double or king sized flat or fitted sheets (flat are easier to iron, fitted are easier to put on!) & a pair of heavy lined curtains.
Everything bar the curtains needs to be tumble dryer safe as I can't dry washing indoors in the winter/bad weather and I would prefer any detailing to be embroidered so that I don't have the problem of colours bleeding in the wash.

I've bought most of my previous bed sets from BHS & they've been around £40 each plus sheets & oxford pillowcases on top! Asda have a nice one at the moment for less than £19 but not sure about the quality??
Any recommendations welcome.

Anything here that takes your fancy? Seems to cover all budgets and some quite striking. I'm thinking of using them as I'll need bed linen when we move into our new house soon. They have some bricks and mortar shops too but when I looked they don't seem have the full range that's on the website.
  • im sure matalan had monochrome duvet covers in the sale. this was 2 weeks ago but maybe they have others?

I did insert a link ;) . Click on the blue text (the word "here") in my original post and that is the link, it takes you to the website I'm referring to.

P.S. It worked for me when I just tried it, but if it isn't working for you come back and I'll post the URL.

Search eBay - I got a superb white broderie anglaise set (Egyption cotton in superking) on there for about £30 including the two fancy pillowcases.

Otherwise, we have a shop called Shaws near us and they have some good stuff quite cheaply as well. I suspect that you would need to "feel" the ones from Asda and see just what you think of the quality.

When I did a Google search to get an idea of prices LOADS for eBay came up but I was a bit wary on the quality.
I have bought a quilt cover from Asda before & its pretty decent, maybe a little thin, but gonna check out the one I've seen on their website tomorrow if they've got it in store. :D

Well, I expect that some will be better than others - but the one I bought was absolutely beautiful and as it has been used to dress a bedroom in a house that is for sale I have had lots of compliments on it and jokes about hoping it comes with the house (which of course if would if it needed to;) ).

spankey monkey is right ~ the Matalan black & white one looked really really nice.... its not usually my thing but I did do a double take on it, I seem to remember seeing it in the sunday mirror (homes & holidays) section, I dont think it was too pricey either.

Tomsmum link - is a really nice company ~ I had 1st class service from them. I placed an order for 4ft sheets and they were delivered the next day ~ not bad quality either.
What goes around comes around !! Simple but very true :rotfl:
