Reduced hours help, being ripped off

My working days have been reduced from 5 days to 3 days, well this is what I was told in the meeting.
When it comes to the crunch i used to work 5.5 days and stopped working the extra half day well before may of last year.
Now work has worked out that I am being deducted 2.5 days pay instead of just 2 days.
I said that this is unfair and everyone else in the company works 5 days and I was the only member of staff to work the extra half day. Last week was the first working week and I haven't had written notice that the hours were being reduced only verbal from 5 days to 3 days at the same time as every other member of staff.
What can I do???

Get it in writing for a start-off - ie words to the effect "You were previously on x hours per week at y rate of pay - and we now propose to put you on such and such a rate of pay for so and so hours of work - with effect from.......(date)" and this will last for (the following period of time)."0
