(This is the reply from Asda to an email sent by merrypotter - thanks for providing this for everyone to see.)
Thank you for your message.
The new coupon acceptance policy is as follows.
We will accept all manufacturers' coupons (including internet coupons) in line with the terms and conditions of each coupon I.e. Customers must buy the product to redeem the coupon.
There is no limit to the number of coupons that can be redeemed in a transaction, as long as they are redeemed against the product specified e.g. 24 x 10p coupons off Heinz baked beans - customer must purchase 24 cans of Heinz baked beans.
1. The coupon must be 'in date'
2. The coupon must not be for a specific retailer other than ASDA. e.g. 20p off toothpaste at Tesco
3. The customer must have purchased the product
Each coupon has a bar code, which should be scannable.
Self Scan
All coupons tendered at self-scan will now require authorisation. This means that with each coupon scanned, the system will automatically trigger an intervention and the host must authorise.
I hope that this information will help you.
Kind Regards

Thankyou thankyou thankyou to Honey9034:A and to Browntoa:A !!
:T :T
Let's all agree not to bicker or feed any troll who wanders onto this thread bragging about using unredeemable coupons. My New Year's (New Thread's) resolution is to try to ignore such posts (I'll assume they are a wind-up merchant) so let's just get on with our usual stupid banter - and the odd new coupon of course!
How about no multisheets on here at all - if people want to print more than one of a PDF coupon they can do so manually by putting the paper back in I would have thought? Multisheets have been reproduced by eBay sellers before now. Unless the majority feel we should have them?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

At least if anyone has been complaining about the chat interfering with their being able to get the coupon codes, but not contributing, they now know what they are subscribing to when they request emails!!Coupon-mad wrote: »How about no multisheets on here at all - if people want to print more than one of a PDF coupon they can do so manually by putting the paper back in I would have thought? P.S. BTW when I tried just a minute ago, the link from the old closed Chat Only thread to this one, didn't work? I had to look for it specially...it was worth it though!
I agree wholeheartedly about the multisheets. They were useful in the past but they are more likely to be abused. Let's encourage people to play by the rules and ensure the Tesco national policy can continue for longer.
Looks like the link is fixed!
Thank you Browntoa for giving this a chance, it will make it much easier for the regular posters to contribute.:beer:It's nice to be nice .....

Oh dear...bit confused , hope this is the right place, if not please remove...
Just been to my favourite coupon takingTesco and as had hubby me with went to self-scan( much easier with 2 people) SA came over as I was entering my coupons and asked if my Sun coupons were all for Mr T as they have had quite a few ( those that were for Sainsbury etc)used at the self-san .Mine were all legit, Sun, internet and manufacturers...She told me the manager is getting really p***** off with people taking advantage of the system and he is going to have to have a total re-think about the way he interprets the coupon policy. Please, please behave yourselves all you couponers and you won't spoil it for everyone else.Let's have a great start to the New Year with us all being above board with couponing, cheats go away you're not welcome.... !!!0 -
Tesco Direct
Veggiecar
"If a large Tesco has a Tesco direct desk will they accept MOCs?
Anyone tried it?"
Last week I bought a printer from a large Tesco. I had to pick it up from the Direct Desk and wanted to take it to the normal till to pay but they said I had to pay for it at their desk. I explained that I wanted to use some coupons and they said it wouldn't be a problem so I handed them over. They then proceeded to go through each one carefully and then announced that they couldn't be used because they were for food and I hadn't bought any. I patiently explained that was the reason I wanted to take it to the normal till. After a lot of discussion between the staff they let me do just that. I found a nice young girl on the checkout who promply scaned each coupon without a second glance.
I have also tried buying things in Waitrose in different departments, ie the Kitchen Department but when I hand over the coupons there is always a great debate whether they can be used or not (eventually they say OK). I think because the staff on these counters are not used to dealing with coupons it frightens them so they say no. Now I always just take the item to the normal till, usually without any problems.0 -
