    £25 :D:D:D

    Far too high:eek:

They have already admitted that it will cost more in time/admin to take the car. Remember you are BR now and from my own BR I see it as a personal challenge to make my money go as far as possible. £10 would be my offer and I bet they will take it...... The other £15 can put some petrol in:j
  • Wow!

feels a bit cheeky, but we have no spare money, which they are full aware of!

a tenner it will be then................ :p

  • He went on to say that as they are both so low value - it would cost them more in paperwork and scrapping fees - so they would immediately offer us the car back for a nominal fee.

 am i missing something:confused: it would cost them more in paperwork and scrapping fees  shouldnt they be paying you to keep it then :p :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

So pleased it went so well for you, but how did he know about your chateau down in the South of France???;) Which OR's office was it, out of curiosity?

Maybe we should have a OR office roll of honour!

All the very best for a much less worrying future.

  • ive been reading up on it as they want to take my car which is worth between £300-400 on the parkers guide but needs a few things doing to it to get it through MOT in april so im offering a low value but found this on the OR guide to cars not exempt but of low value

If a vehicle has no apparent resale value (e.g. because of age) a nominal sale price of £10 plus the outstanding value of the road fund licence can be agreed. Also, in instances where the motor vehicle is unroadworthy, the official receiver may sell the vehicle to the bankrupt for a nominal fee, rather than arrange for the vehicle to be scrapped. The bankrupt would have to sign a declaration that he/she acknowledges that the vehicle is unroadworthy and that he/she would not use or park the vehicle on the public highway in that state. This declaration is to provide the official receiver with the protection required under section 75(6) of the Road Traffic Act 1988. A copy of the declaration to be used can be found at Annex A and B.

so its basicly saying £10 plus the amount of tax left
    hope it helps
