Im really scared

Didnt sleep last night, woke up feeling sick this morning, I should have saved the fees by the end of the month.

My tax credits have fluctuated this year hes gunna poke his nose into all of that , my mum was my registered childminder, so instead of giving her the cash I used to buy her shopping using my card, or pay her debts over the telephone, (she hasnt got a switch card) he is gunna think I was keeping the childcare payments for myself, and report me I know it, also I got £600 tax back this year, I rang Inland Revenue, they said they couldn't locate one of my previous employer so it was correct, I know he is gunna be horrible and report me to the inland revenue, I'll be lucky if I dont get sent to Prison!!!!!!!!!

I know BR is the best thing for me , but I dont know if I can do it.

There is nothing there that warrents prison!!!!

Explain about how you "paid" your Mum with the money. And also if the Tax Office tell you its right, then take it as right. Why is he going to report you to the IR?? For taking a refund they paid you?? And Tax Credits childcare is a payment to you. It helps cover childcare costs and like all money, goes into one big pot for the budget. I mean, your wages - they are yours. Would you get told off if you didn't pay the rent with that specifically and used tax credits instead as thats paid into your account the day before rent is due??? And so on.

Prison is reserved for fraud. And that means a court case and needs to be proved, then barristers with Human Rights etc...... And nothing appears fraudulent.

i do think you need to stop panicking although i know it is hard not to.It sounds to me that you can explain everything so just do the same to the OR. Just match bills you have paid for your mum for her to her bills and just explain it all and the OR can go look if they want but i doubt they will.

Going on is only going to make you worry more. The funny thing i found was i was looking into more when i had to claim benefits when i lost my job than i did when i was dealing with the OR.

I just take each day as it comes and i just deal with them as they come in so at the end of each day i am clear for a good night sleep. So i would honestly just hit it head on and get it out the way.

    Good luck

  • Hello there I'm very new and have spent the last few days adjusting to things that only ever happen to other people. I took much comfort from reading other peoples situations and experiences. It sounds cheesy but there's nothing but help here and what looks like a shedload of support. I found that writing things down helped to stop stuff from relentlessly spinning around my head, I've even had three nights sleep.
I've along way to go but I don't feel isolated because of this place and the superb guy from the CCCS.
