First, many thanks you all for quite a large range of opinions on this but I have to say that my Wife would just love not to be setting a so called 'Trend' with this which is a very serious condition as per................

"No it is not my husband was ill for years until when he was in his late 40s he lost a lot of weight and had a very swollen stomach ,he was in chronic pain and had constant runs of undigested food ,one day he collapsed at work and was rushed to hospital ,where he had a blood test that showed he needed a blood transfusion as he was severely anemic ,this was followed by a biopsy which showed up that he had undiagnosed coeliac disease and had had it for most of his life ,he has changed his diet now no gluten at all and he feels better now than he ever has in his entire life apparently the fact that he was undiagnosed puts him at a greater risk of developing certain cancers and every year he has to go back to the hospital for check ups because of this ,untreated it is a very nasty disease that makes the sufferer very poorly."
My Wife is very worried because she is aware of the possible repercussions of this Non Diagnosis that we feel should have been picked many many years ago.
I appreciate that many people will Litigate for all sorts of reasons nowadays, but we think that if we try for this, then it is justified.
Thank you all and would appreciate any further input. You've heard the budget speech now you've been told. Make lots of cash then die before you're old 'Cause we're gonna Tax Gran that's what it is We're gonna Tax Gran freeze her allowances. You better hope next winter isn't cold. We're gonna Tax Gran, we're glad she's there. To subsidize the Billionaires. We're gonna Tax Gran and this is wrong!0 -
Personally would say you don't have a hope in hell.
Lets just say I know some who tried to claim for medical negligence an ended up with a bill for nearly £3K. The incident left them disabled for life after suffering a stroke due to undiagnosed medical condition that if left untreated can be fatal.
You insurance legal cover will cover legal costs if it has been in place at time of the medical negligence. Seeing as the OP seems to think that the medical negligence has taken place over the last 35 years. I am not sure it will be covered.
To prove medical negligence you will need to have all of your wife's medical records going back to birth as well as all hospital records. Then a report will be requested via a dr. The report will say if them believe that all was done at the time to prevent the incident occuring.
As there is no one incident then I really don't see how you can claim for medical negligence.

Just be thankful that she has been diagnosed and can look forward to a better quality of life. A close relative has coeliac disease so I know a lot about how it affects people.
