i've been job hunting for a while now, with no luck.
i have just been for an interview last week, for a job which i thought was going to be permanent, fixed hours..they no longer have that job so have offered me another position, which is, i guess, like an on call job...so no guarantee of a set number of hours a week..some weeks i could be working everyday..some days none..maybe even a month i wouldn't work at all...if i took this job..would i be eligible for any sort of benefit to help me? if some weeks i'm not earning anything, i wouldn't be able to live because obviously with taking the job i would come off JSA!!
any help will be appreciated, thank you

OK, it sounds like HGV driving for agencies.
Basically, if you do 16hrs or more, you have to sign off JSA. As soon as the work stops, sign on again otherwise if you take the "well I might get something next week", you may find that it is a few weeks before you do get more work and its hard backdating a JSA claim.
LHA and CTB may be payable.Conor
