    Morning JD
Tks for all your efforts with my CCs - think I have confused you though with the way I set out my CCs balances etc...
    FI, CC1 is:

    £7911.33 - owing
    £1988.67 - avail to spend (!)
    £9,900 - credit limit
    22.4% APR - my highest

So I can only transfer about £1500 onto that one...all the others are set out the same; sorry if I didn't make it clear. I appreciate your efforts trying to help me when you have your own stuff to worry about! BTW lying in bed awake I remembered we have another CC - with NO BALANCE as we have never activated/used it. I do think it is one from LLoyds - & we already have a different CC with them WITH a balance - but maybe I could find it & put it to some use.....it's a start.

All posts help me to concentrate my mind & to think of angles that maybe I hadn't thought of. Off to get some stuff ready for eBay.....I can do this!

he he sasha, i think ive confused both of us! i meant move the money OFF credit card one not onto there fore reducing it eventually to zero, so you can then transfer back onto it at a lower rate! if you see what i mean.

great news about the other cc....would be an idea to phone them, ask the credit limit and ask what the % is for balance transfer......things would be a whole lot easier for you if you started with a "blank" card!!!!!

i use ebay a lot for selling....its just another way to make some more money to put towards the debt!

and as for worrying about my own stuff.....when i first came on here loads of people helped me (and still do).....i feel like if you get something from this board, you should give something back.........

keep plugging away at it girl, add a signature and watch that debt come down

one thing that occurs to me - hope you don't mind me with my spanner in the works - but have you checked your aprs on your overdraft? OH's account is with Lloyds, and his overdraft creates more interest than his credit card. We found out online, but only going through a rather tortuous click here click here process ....

Might be worth checking that these shouldn't be at the top of your repayment list ...

I have still not been able to check the o/d APR - couldn't locate on the website anywhere; thought it must be on the statements. I had some old ones even tho we donlt get paper statements. No luck there either - all it gave me were the i/charges on one month. No transparency there that I can see...it looks like a phone call unless you can point me where to click on the website, or start me off in the right direction!

    TIA

Hi Sorry Caps Lock Stuck Down So Capital Letters Only. I Rang Gm Card Last Month Previously 24% And Told Them I Was Considering Moving My Balence Onto Cheaper Card, They Immediatly Dropped Their Interest Rate To 15.9%. This Takes Effect As Of This Month , On A Balece Of 7000 Thats A Decent Drop But Also Offered A Life Of Balence On A Transfer Of 9% So I Can Transfer It All Out And Back Again On That Rate. Remember They Dont Know Your Financial Situation And They Dont Know That You Cant Get Cheaper Cards So Give It A Go On All Of Them..julia

    Hi Julia!

Caps lock on or no I am glad you still managed to post - that sounds a great idea. I will certainly give it a try, you know I have nothing to lose & if they say NO I am no worse off - & could maybe get some breathing space.

I'll LYK how I get on, thanks once again.

You have to log in and click on the drop down menu next to the relevant account, select overdraft. It then comes up with the "I'm a mug, please increase my overdraft" screen, with a clickable link to "interest rates and charges" I've attached that link here as I don't think it's in the secure bit ...

So long as you know the TYPE of account you have, you should be able to find it in the list somewhere! I think it's the EAR and NOT the monthly percentage you need to worry about!

    Hi Fairylights!

many thanks for the link - I found it & it looks like I am the proud possesor of a 16.2% o/d from the generous folks at LTSB...tomorrow I am think I will just call them & see if they can offer me a better account - working on the principle they can only say NO :p & I am no worse off.

    TKS again
