  • I wonder if Ballymena have any????
  • HP replacement cartridges are a fortune
Cheaper in the long run to buy Epson and pick up your replacements for less than a pound.

I started off with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

you can get hp compatible cartridges for a few quid too. i think that the hp build quality may be better.
  • only £59 in pc world at the minute, somes with some photographic paper. the cartridges are only £2.79.

if you are talking about the hp DeskJet 3940, then you have to be very careful, as the cartridges only hold only 15ml of ink (which is about a quarter of what the epson holds). this means that you will be replacing them every 100 pages or so, at a cost of about £15.

the difference between the epson and hp cartridges is that the nozzles come built into hp's whereas epson have permanent nozzles. this means that the epson goes through a cleaning process every time its switched on to clear any dry ink in the nozzles, which is no big deal.

i must say i was utterly suprised by the quality of the photographs that came out of my new d88, just like i got them in boots!

i have also heard that the DJ3940 is very noisy and has problems feeding paper in straight.
