Cauldron Organic Tofu 250g slab - only £1 in Asda

I made a search for Asda and tofu but seen nothing yet in here, so here it is:

Asda in Feltham, this afternoon were selling Cauldron Organic Tofu for £1 per slab - the usual size, for those of you who are familiar with this product. Usually it sells for £1.45 or more, depending on the store. Worth checking your local Asda.

Tofu is soy, otherwise is not really tofu. :) yes that's the plain one that was on special offer. I wish they did the smoked tofu but I hardly see it around, whether discounted or not. I grill it then dress it with mustard for breakfast, yum. And I'm not even a vegetarian. ;)

I've just had some tonight: I sautee a clove of garlic and a bit of onion in extra virgin olive oil with a bit of rosemary, add a teaspoon of marmite, a bit of water, and then put in the diced tofu, to gently simmer for a few minutes. I served it with steamed broccoli and carrot, and a slice of wholemeal bread.

I love tofu as a healthy, cheap alternative to meat of which I don't eat a lot anyway. :A

Just marinate it in some soya sauce or tamari.
