If you are going to spend £600 I would spend a little more to get a real graphics card, bigger hard drive and slightly more RAM. Going to find those specs limiting quite fast.

I just bought a 6000 of ebay, for £860 inclusive of VAT/delivery it included:

1 GB RAM (single stick, I also upgraded it to 2GB for another £100)
100GB Hard Drive
1.86 Processor
128MB Graphics card
WUXGA screen (huge resolution)

Those upgrades turn a pretty crap machine into a pretty good one. If you want a cheap laptop, there are a few Acer's out there which are better value than those dells.

Anyone thinking about buying a laptop right now should look into the new dual core intel platform, you may be better off waiting a few months and getting something much more powerful for your money.
