Paying for court fees.

Hi all,
My husband and i are thinking about bankruptcy and have a few initial questions. Do we have to apply seperately and pay 2 fees? or can we apply jointly? I understand the court fees are £495 each, is it acceptable to pay these on credit card (adding to our overall debt) as we obviously don't have a lot of spare cash hanging about? Also, how many copies of the forms do i need to submit as i am collecting them from the court on Monday.
Many thanks in advance.

  • if you are solely on benefits you can claim £150 per person reduction and yes, many pay by credit card....

You cannot walk into the court an use your credit card to pay. You will have to get the cash out of the ATM. The OR may tell you off a bit, but most will usually overlook it.

    3 copies of each.
