How old are your towels out of interest? I ask because we've had ours for easily ten years and they still 'work' fine. I'm just wondering how much longer it'll be before I need new.

Some of mine were wedding presents 43yrs ago. They are the ones I now use in the kitchen and have been trimmed and bound with bias binding where the edges have worn. Some have been cut short to remove the worn bits!
  • Wow, thanks for all the replies - lots to mull over there.

I'll give them a blast in the washing machine first, see if I can sort out the colour, then work on from there. Failing that, the possibility of recycling sounds like "fun" :p!!

Lightbulb moment March 2004 (Debt £55,000) & debt-free as of May 2007 (thanks to CCCS, and a remortgage to clear last £20,000).
    Looking to the future!

Well, my mum's still using towels that they got as wedding presents when they got married in 1967, 41 years ago!!!!

So, hopefully they'll last you a wee bit longer
