I had an unexpected afternoon off work today (heating broke completely at the office) so I had a pleasant 3 hours or so's Bootsing instead, at Nottingham Victoria Centre.
Started off with 70 points on my card, 3 blinkies and 2 No7 250 points vouchers.
Finished off with 850 points, 3 blinkies, 5 GWPs, a survey entry, and a £2 off £8 spend healthcare voucher.
I spent £13.21, bought mostly half price and bogof stuff, and all the stuff I bought I'll actually use, and found -
No7 glossy locks hair spritz on clearance, so had 3 of those (No7 342 and used a blinkie)
Herbal Essences 400mls (the big bottles) for coloured/highlighted hair shampoo for 37p!!! Bought the only 2 bottles in the shop.
After asking on this board about the lilac patterned No7 old GWP, typical, I couldn't find any - boo hiss.
A couple of interesting things I noticed in this store - firstly, the "clearance" Glitter Babes and Bratz stuff which was on clearance before the 75% off sale, didn't appear in the sale here, and is now back in stock, at full price (but still green gift stickered) on the toys shelves.
And - there is one aisle-end of 75% stuff in this store - wrapping paper and photo albums mostly. This is situated upstairs. However, there is a whole back wall downstairs which has not been relabelled after the sale. Other aisles have been, since the sale. But not this area. It currently has things like Coke, bottles of water etc spread along it. It would appear this is being held onto for something - but I don't know what? Could it be there will be a delivery in time for a 90% sale next Wednesday? I'm not going, as I don't need anything, I picked up what I wanted for the most part at 75% off - just thought it was worth a mention.0 -
I felt really uncomfortable in the Maidstone Chequers Centre branch today - I was definitely being followed around by a security guard. Whichever way I went, there he was. It's probably because I've been in there so often lately so they must think I'm up to something! Of course it could have been that I stood out because of the gold dance cane sticking out of my bag lol
I eventually found the reduced, stickered No7 - just a few items on a low shelf opposite the No7 tills, under the other various No7 creams.
I got:
No7 Hydro Quench Overnight Cream Sorbet £4.10
No7 Hydro Quench Day Sorbet £3.98
No7 Hydro Quench Pore-Refining Serum £2.83, but free as on 3 for 2
There were 2 No7 SAs manning tills, and luckily I got the nicer one of the two. She was happy to try both the blinkie and a 250 point voucher, and both went through (blinkie first) - the other one would probably have told me I couldn't use them "with any other offer" i.e. reduced stock.
It came to £8.08, less £5 blinkie, so just £3.08 to pay, and I got 12 points plus 250 from a voucher
I spotted a nice clearance No7 nail varnish elsewhere in the store, thrown in a box in a jumble of various brands on the end of a display shelf, but didn't have time to go back for it. I'm in town again tomorrow, so I hope it's still there.
All that was left in the Maidstone, Fremlin Walk branch was some wrapping paper, cards and a few crackers, and about 3 or 4 "Mr Mascara" passport holder sets.0 -
Forgot to mention
The Maidstone, Chequers Centre branch still have about half a dozen St Tropez sets, on the end of one of the aisles, and some gingerbread houses0 -
Hi gang,
Just wanted to say thanks to the lady who pointed out that Herbal Essences had been reduced to like 73p. This is great as you spend 73p and get 100 points back which I think is good. Don't know why but I picked up 3 bottles today. Hmmm, what to do with them? I've still got collections of L'Oreal Men Expert shampoo from 2 years ago when they had an offer at Tesco! HELP! Why am I collecting points again when I can't spend them in the first place? Aargh!
Lovely SA pointed out that the BLINKIES can be used on the NO 7 SUNCARE which is currently on 3 4 2 and on clearance. I tried my best to look surprised and eager but I don't think I pulled it off. Felt like saying "love, I know, I tried it last week and it worked" but decided to be polite and open my eyes really wide and gasp in shock and amazement! Then she went on to tell me that if the gift sets did not sell, they sometimes go on 90% off, again I did the open eyes wide and gasp in shock even though I already knew about this. Legged it out of the store before she told me about any other "offers" I already knew about.
Anyway, enough is enough. I think I need to check into REHAB. Anyone know of any clinics where they rehab Boots addictions? My ad card now has £110 on it, and I just don't know why I am doing it? HELP! I need locking up or handcuffing or something!0 -
Hi,
Would any kind peeps know what NO7 items can be used with the 250 extra points coupons without it beeping (low spend of course if any!).
I tried using it against a reduced N07 anti-ageing facial suncare product today (£2.50) but coupon beeped and was told by cashier I would need to buy a full price product for the coupon to work.
Thanks in advance!
I think your SA was right - today I bought one load of reduced No7 - the till beeped, but the SA just manually added my 250 points voucher to my card.
I then bought the 4-in-1 wipes with a blinkie and paid £1.36 - my other 250 points voucher went through fine with no beep on this transaction.0 -

I did find some massively reduced Herbal Essence shampoo in a tiny Boots today. Got 3 x 400ml bottles for 37p each and gained 300 offer points....I felt like I was being paid to take them away!

Had a profitable afternoon y'day... visited 3 B's (2 small ones) and no HB reduced was 2b found (as advised earlier); however, did some shops either to earn a blinkie or to spend them, lol!;)
1st shop
6 * Pantene sachets = £5.82 (600pts earned)
1 * Olay GWP (the only one in store and feeling very lonely, lol!:o )
Total spend £5.82 (600pts on AC) + blinkie
(was quite nervous taking the GWP as had taken some wipes to go with them but 'lost' them on my way to the till:o ... thus was very conscious (sp) re SA... but she seemed not to notice it, lol!);
2nd shop
UG mini = £1.56 (used 150pts from ACM that states not 2b used on minis:o )
2 * No 17 Trio blusher @ £1.89 each = £3.78
(I think this must have been a GWP sometime ago, b4 I went mad on this thread:o , as it comes on the receipt as GWP... they r quite nice and will go very nicely for some hampers I'm doing for nurses who have been looking after my nephew at the hospital)
Total spend £5.34 initially but cost me £3.45 on BOGOF (150pts added on AC)+ blinkie
(this coz No 17 is on BOGOF at the mo and the signs @ store stated ALL No 17 w/out exclusions but had a 'fight' with ALL SA's as suddenly every1 has an opinion which is NOT to give the cmr the reduced price... continuosly was told these were on clearence thus not on offer... pointed out to the signs which DID NOT exclude clearence items...);
3rd shop
6 * No 17 Trio blusher @ £1.89 each = £11.34
Total spend £11.34 initially but actual cost £5.67 on BOGOF (as per the above shop) + blinkie;
4th shop
2 * R&M Lip liners @ £2.33 each (clearence) = £4.66 but FREE with blinkie
(tried to give 2 pts vouchers on these, 1 for 500pts from mailing and another one from a gift set (?)4 250pts but SA advised these would no go thru coz of the £5 vouchers being given out; asked her to try and the 500 pts one went thru - tho it stated NOT 2b used on clearence, lol!:o - but not the 250pts which was given back)
Total spend £0.00 (with 500pts added on AC);
5th shop
2 * R&M Lip liners @ £2.33 each (clearence) = £4.66 but FREE with blinkie
(this was pd at another till and the SA added my 250pts manually:T )
Total spend £0.00 (with 250pts added on AC);
6th shop
2 * R&M Lip liners @ £2.33 each (clearence) = £4.66 but FREE with blinkie
Total spend £0.00
7th shop
No 7 After sun cream (clearence) = £4.43 but FREE with blinkie
(tried to use the 250pts but was given all sorts of explanation why these could no go thru...:rolleyes: );
Total spend £0.00
8th shop
No 7 Night fluid cream (clearence) = £4.78 but FREE with blinkie
UG mini = £1.56 (used 150pts from ACM)
Total spend £1.56 (150pts added on AC);
9th shop
No 7 Night fluid cream (clearence) = £4.53 but FREE with blinkie
(same cream as above but with a different price?!; here the SA had agreed to put the 250pts manually but changed her mind when I pd with my blinkie :mad: ; howeva in her confusion she gave me my blinkie back with my receipt, lol!:D )
Total spend £0.00
In Total
I spent £16.50
Saved with Blinkies £27.72
No 17 BOGOF £7.56
Xtra Pts added to AC 1650pts
General pts to AC 28pts

You are a professional Bootser - I'm well impressed :T :rotfl:0 -
snipped...

I know the feeling...i had my daughter with me today & she overheard one of the security guards on his radio telling another one to follow us:eek: It makes you feel guilty even tho' you know you haven't done anything.
mimi... where you in Leeds today coz i noticed a poutylicious young chappie near the city centre store?0 -
Hi to all you accomplished bootsers!
I tried to use one of my 2 blinkies today and buy some no7 nail varnish at 342 and was told by male manager manning the tills that can't use them for nail varnish as it is not a cosmetic! :eek:
Oh pardon me I said - I haven't got my glasses with me and can't read what is on the back so as I was in a rush anyway and said oh well, I'll leave them for now then and left somewhat bemused! I am sure that I read here that you guys have used blinkies for nail varnish?0 -
First of all a huge thank you to all my Bootsing friends for your good wishes and PMs, re my DS, who is now, Thank God, out of hospital, and recovering.:A It's been a dreadful 5 days, but life is now back to normal, and what better way to do that, said Dee, but to go a-Bootsing again!
We started off on the bus to Lakeside, which looked so bare, deserted and quiet, we found ourselves whispering! B*gger all on the shelves, except, loads and loads of ..................... suntan cream!
In a corner, we espied the wrapping paper, cards, doggy book ends, cat key rings etc, and some broken ol' tat, including a Mediterranean box, squashed, and with a leaking bottle of Thyme Milk.
So I went to an SA, who was with a supervisor, and before I said anything about the broken box, I gave a deep intake of breath and said "Gosh, haven't you both got gorgeous complexions!"
They did have, but I thought a bit of buttering up wouldn't go amiss, and when she let me have the box for 75p, after consulting the supervisor, who was smiling broadly, I felt that was a very good result!!!
They had loads of reduced suncream and No 7 stuff, but nothing that appealed, so we then went to Bella Italia, who were doing a lovely breakfast deal, £5.25 for any coffee, plus any breakfast.
We had mushrooms, tomatoes, and poached egg on ciabatta, washed down with cappuccino. I then presented my £10 off your bill voucher, so it cost us 25p each for breakfast!:j :j
We then got a bus to Upminster, train to Barking, bus to Beckton Triangle Retail Park, and went in the clearance store, or as we call it, Boots Cemetery!!
Someone on here was looking for Country Hamper Sets - they had loads for £12.
Then, to our immense joy, we each managed to get an intact Medi Gift Set for £2.50, and a Mande Lular Indulgence set for a fiver. Then, oh joy of joys, we found loads of S & G sets, that were in a pink purse. Every single one had been rifled, so some were empty, some had one item in, but on the floor I espied ........ an S & G £2 voucher! :T
They had loads of crackers, Sanctuary stuff, P & P, fcuk items (always frightened typing that!), but you have to be careful, cos everything has a manually attached label, and you can find that the same product might be labelled £1.75, or £2 or £2.50.
Then we got the bus to Beckton Galleons Reach, who had those blasted doggy book ends, wrapping paper, broken gingerbread kits, and little else, but managed to find a friendly SA (gosh, your hair is so glossy!), who over-rode the till and let me use my £2 S & G coupon on a mini. Also managed to get some not-very-Christmassy looking CD gift boxes for ....... 12p in Tesco! :T :T On our travels, we bought several of the No 7 cuticle cream with our Blinkies, and our over 60s discount means we only pay 50p.
So I think the 90% sale will go ahead - for those of you who would like some wrapping paper, doggy bookends, empty floral cosmetic bags, or mugs with a cat.
Home via the DLR, Jubilee, C2C and bus (all free thanks to Boris!) and a good day was had by us!!! :beer:0
