There has been a lot of discussion about this particular set and it's HD readiness (or not). Have a search on www.avforums.com before buying.0

It's the same one that Aldi were selling last year.
It had firmware problems, and is still not truly HDTV ready according to some.
Do a search on AV forums, as there is lots of letters to Medion on this one.0 -
also read that this isnt truly HD ready nor particularly pretty.
Better to spend another £60 on the 32'' Samsung on offer from Freemans on another thread.....
