is this legit

had a phone call frm a lady from the golden sands resort in malta saying I am one of 20 runners up from a comp with uk prizesite (probably something with a different name) which means I can stay at radisson in malta for 1 week for £99

need to get me own flights there, and can take additional guests (children £29 each)

i am quite interested ....anyone got any views or ideas on how I check it all out

Thanks

no its not legit, if you get asked to pay for anything then its just a sales call

  • in fairness the lady was clear I hadnt won the prize holiday, so it was really positioned as a sales call

    website she quoted is http://www.goldensands.com.mt/page.asp?n=home

Personally, I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole.

I had a call today from some guy claiming to be calling from America about that I'd won a 7 night holiday staying at Radisson Florida, with the option of adding this and that.

They started telling me that I had 18 months to book the holiday, but I had to pay some money to them over the phone right away, when I refused they hung up!
  • ok, i thought raddison was a big company and this gave it some credence in my mind.....i will steer clear

    thanks

For what it is worth, I am on holiday in Malta at the moment and I visited this hotel after being propositioned in the street by the usual touts who told me I had won a free holiday (like yeah man!). Out of curiosity I went along and listened to the sales pitch. Typical timeshare nonsense and not worth even considering as a genuine deal. Unfortunately many many people do fall for it to their cost. It is not Raddison who are selling the timeshares but another concern called, if my memory serves, Access2Leisure or some such name.

The hotel itself is really out of this world.........probably the best that I have ever been in. But beware about going in case you fall for the sales spiel.
