Ikea coming to Belfast and Dublin

Looks like they are coming! :)
....The Belfast store will cover 25,800 sq metres over two floors, and will have approximately 1,100 car spaces.....400-seater restaurant, a bistro, a cafe and a Swedish food hall as well as a creche....and open the store in late December....

    Don't get too excited about the Dublin one - last I read it was mired down in planning - and I think we all know how much scrutiny that's been under in the Republic in the last few years.

    In many cases it helps if you say where you are - someone with local knowledge might be able to give local specifics rather than general advice

    Heard on the radio today IKEA def coming to Holywood exchange....fab . think they hoping to be opened by xmas...not sure which year tho.

    They're aiming for Christmas 2006, from what I heard on last night's news. So glad I didn't go ahead with my purchase a couple of weeks ago with the hefty £190 delivery charge. That'll buy me some amount of stuff when they open! I travel to England quite a lot and notice a snooty attitude towards Ikea. People can't believe that we actually make special trips to shop there. They obviously don't know how much we are ripped off over here.
