Hello i will start at the beginning
When i was younger i had a job and paid national insurance but no tax i dont think but something happened to me and i left the job and went on a downward spiral i lived on the street for years never claimed benefit lived hand to mouth etc.
I ended up somewhere nice in the uk and was helped by people who ran a business there i have been with them for 3 years now still not claimed benefit etc,
i contacted my family again they sent me money and stuff the people who helped me cant afford to pay me so i helped them for free when they needed it but now i feel a lot better now and wish to get a job
i have a bank account now which these kind people helped me get they got me on the voting register
i would like to apply for a job i contacted the tax for my national insurance number which they said they would send me but every job i read for wants a p45 or p60 i dont have one
And will the tax people come after me for not paying tax all these years and how do i go about sorting something out so i can apply for a job
any help please
JUst want to add that it not me personally but someone next to me i said you could help

Not sure on this question but just did a google on this and found this info.
What happens if you don't have a P45 to give to your new employer? There are a number of reasons why you may not have a P45. You may not have worked before, or have been self-employed. You may never have worked in the UK before. Your previous employer may not have given you the P45 yet. Or you may simply have lost it. Whatever the reason, if you cannot give your new employer a P45, the employer must give you a form P46 to complete.
There are some exceptions to this which some other members might be able to point out. I have used a P46 before in the pass and i think you are just put on the standard tax code.
With regards to you not paying Tax in the job u did. What age was you and how long did u work for when not paying tax and what hours etc was you on.0 -
I was 16 when i started was on £50 a week did that for a few years wage didnt change much apprentice type wage
then i had bed spell of not working for a few years then i lived on the streets0 -
Not sure if i am correct but when u start work at 16 i think you have to earn so much before you start paying Tax so it might be why you never paid it and you are also allowed to earn so much tax free.

Whatever age you are, you can earn so much before you have to pay tax, and if it was an apprentice type wage you may well have been below the threshold. Also generally it would be your employer they would go after for not having paid the tax.
If you don't have a P45, a P46 is fine, and a new employer should be able to give you one of these.Signature removed for peace of mind0
