Honda shuts down April and May

There are deals if you try. I know someone who recently got 40% off new list price for an ex-demo Freelander with not-a-lot on the clock - paid for with cash.
I don't understand why they aren't going for the deal route either. Not now we can see we are in this for the long term. The cars will only deteriorate as others have said. I could have understood it if they thought they would be back selling next year at full price, but is that likely?0 -

They get paid 80% for 2 months but owe all the time back so that is a lot of extra saturdays if things get back to normal.
I work for a supplier to all these firms so the knock on effects are huge.
Edit, My mistake, I've changed the header.
When they go back to production they'll only just have enough orders to fill the week, I cant see much overtime being offered. How they;ll make the time back, who knows..
My company supplies Honda, our forecasted loss for this year just keeps growing every week. looking a bit grim.matched betting: £879.63

I know a few places where you can get almost 40%+ percent of Discoveries NEW never mind ex-demo, as we are after one. Land Rover are about the worst hit in terms of some models (Freelander and Discovery), yet on the Defender its probably the least discounted car around and you would be lucky to find any discount from your local dealer. Its the cars perceived as Chelsea tractors that are the worst hit for all Manufacturers, just a pity in the case of the Discovery as that's a damn good farm 4x4 - amazing boot capacity and can cope with almost the same terain as the Defender.0 -

Dealers reckon they don't make much on the initial sale it's the servicing etc they want. Unless of course you have free servicing then you are paying really.
I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left. :rolleyes:0 -

Then perhaps they need to be made for less than they are, something that's featured on another thread (car workers' wages).Fokking Fokk!0 -
Honda's closures from feb onwards will no doubt send many of their smaller suppliers under (6 weeks production in 6 months from December to May - what business could survive with that if Honda are their main client?). When Honda return and find half their supply base has gone under where are they going to get their materials/parts from?matched betting: £879.63
