in Cutting tax
i left work last january 2008 after working for 11 years for the same company. i decided to take some time off maybe a few years to look after my young family as i was missing out on so many things. in may 2008 i sent my P45 off to the tax office for a rebate as i hadnt worked the full year and i wasnt planning on going back to work for some time. However in november i got itchy feet and have now gone back to work 14 hours a week and will earn approx £4800 p.a i was emergency taxed on my december pay day and have now filled in a P60 but does anyone know roughly what percentage of tax should i be looking at paying.

The form that you completed would have been (I hope) a P46 where you should have ticked box A in the bottom left hand corner.
On those earnings you should not be paying any tax whatsoever.0
