What sort of bank/building society/post office accounts can a Bankrupt open?
Accounts that they can have money paid into?
Preferably ones that can be opened in person (not online) & with minimum funds (operhaps £1).
I know there is a card account from the PO, but ONLY central gov benefits can be paid into that, NOT local gov/authority payments.
I need to know for work:o
Very grateful for any help on this, as everyone seems to be in the dark reg this:o

The co-op will open a cashbuilder account for you over the phone. I did it on wednesday, took a maximum of 15 minutes. You won't even need a penny

The Co-op do the Cashminder account with debit card and internet banking and it can be opened over the phone. You can use the Post Office for deposits etc.
Barclays do the Cash account with either a cash card or a debit card and internet banking. You have to go in branch to open it.

You can open an NS&I Easy Access Savings Account at the Post Office at the counter. You can only open the account with £100. It's quite easy to open and you get a cash card for deposits and withdrawals. There's no credit check with this one.0

I have both the Co-Op one and the Barclays one and now that I have proper Visa Debit (not Electron) card and online banking with Barclays I prefer it over the Co-Op one.0

I believe that Barclays will let you have a basic bank account with a proper Visa debit even if you owe them money - whilst Co-Op won't let you have an account if you owe them money.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

This is with clients in mind & £100 is quite a lot of money to them.
Accounts that don't allow people to go even a little overdrawn would work best.
Doesn't matter what they can pay from it (DD, SO, etc) all that matters is money can be paid in via BACS & they are readily accessible Branch's.
