Yes it's only about £12 but if you have been working there for 6 years you can roll up all your previous years to get just under £60.

You will also get £12 each year for future tax years, providing tax rates remain the same. (You get it £1 a month though).

You have to have paid tax in the first place though.

I really would like to know more about reclaiming the money for washing work uniform.
Basically, I know that l can claim the money but the problem is that l have got two part time jobs( l do have work clothes in both of them ). The question is: do l claim 60 pound from each company or can l claim just 60 pound from both of them per year?;)

My view is that each job should have a uniform/FRE rate attached to it as this appears to be the most logical way to apportion expenses - if you have 2 jobs you have 2 uniforms. Personnally I would spell this out in my letter and request both.

However in the absence of any formal guidance - if anyone has any please post - it's down to the person at HMR&C who reviews your claim and typically they only allow one allowance per employee. However if the amount is worth enough to you even if they decline this it might be worth challenging it.
