I had a similar problem last year when they "lost" a huge order of party presents for the year from their 75% toys sale back in February... they refunded me more than the original value to make up for me having paid delivery for one measly item that arrived and for having to to reorder the rest... just be nice when you call them and hopefully they will be obliging, I have always found TescoDirect customer service to be pretty good.

I have ordered the organic hamper to be delivered on Mon to a different address as a birthday present for someone - can anyone tell me what it actually looks like - does it say anything like 'Christmas' hamper on it? I ordered it because the items in it aren't too 'Christmassy' and am hoping that it isn't obvious that it's old Christmas stock!

    Hi buyitall
The wicker hamper will arrive in a cardboard box. Inside the hamper is a picture of all the contents - I think it says festive on it, so just remove that. All of the products inside are not marked with Christmas in anyway but some items do have a short best before date. I had 3 items that need to eaten before March 2009.
Drank the wine last night - a very fruity South African. The apple refresher tastes really good, nice and zingy. The chocolates have 2 layers each with 8 posh chocolates. Very rich. The marmalade looks a little runny, the jam is delicious. All in all well worth the £12 odd

Thanks barnabee - the hamper I ordered is actually being delivered directly to the birthday girl (60th bday present), so I won't be able to remove anything. Oh well, never mind, don't think she would be expecting a present in the first place, so hopefully she won't be offended! I was hoping for a 'send as a gift' option on the delivery page, but Tesco don't offer it.
  • just came back from Tesco, got the finest one, but the organic one is missing, how? the laday is very nice said they have ordered another one for me, but I dot think I will get it, got missing few times before and end up refund only. Grrrrrr!!!,

Same with me I would never have ordered my other item , only added it as delivery was covered by my three hampers , I will be having words , they say my hampers have been lost in transit.
Just rang them up and said I only ordered other item as it was included in the same delivery price as the hampers. No refund on delivery was offered , just told me to refuse delivery at door and they will refund total order ! They have admitted that it was a tecnical error and they had infact run out of stock.
Never pay more than you have too
  • Tesco Diect are AWFUL at delivering things. I have ordered several times and there is always something they lose in transit. rubbish!
