But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D
Today i will:
- check online banking -
- update spreadsheets
- move money to savings
- Make a loaf in breadmaker
- lunch at work - travelling to new manager's court again to hand over
- storecupboad tea

- do something nice for someone else
- no spend day planned

Morning.
Haven't been posting for a bit as I have been busy, busy, busy but I've been dropping in to read what you're all up to and remind myself to stay on-track.
My listy:
* Storecupboard breakfast, dinner (I was going to buy a sandwich today as a treat but I'm a Yorkshire lass and my tight nature won out in the end!) and tea. It would usually be takeaway night but we had chinese on Wednesday and our one-a-week rule is not to be broken! (Plus we're going to the pub tomorrow for dinner...)
* Charge phone and DS (Nintendo... I haven't suddenly spawned a plug-in child) at work.
* Check bank statements. I have £50 refunded into my current account for some reason that I am investigating (2 lots of football ticket refunds that I think I know what for and a refund from a failed top-up that I wasn't aware I had been billed for). Regardless of this refund, it's pay day on Monday and it's the first time I've had money left in my account come pay-day for about six months. This extra £50 is a bonus.
* Checked Quidco. Should be due about a tenner next month.
* Checked for surveys. None yet today but did loads yesterday.
* Washing at 30' later and drying on airer.
* Check for Qype goodies from postie.
* Take advantage of the free tea and coffee at work.
* Somehow get the annoying chant of "it's F....R-I-D-A-Y... it's Friday!" out of my head. I have internal cheerleaders (and mental problems I think!)
* Sparkle.
Have a good day everyone! Better go and do some work...
F....R-I-D-A-Y... it's Friday!0 -
Today is not going to be a good one!
Travelling home to see my Mum as it's her birthday today so £50 in petrol, but £10 for the perfume she wanted (if it's still on offer, if not, it will be more);
Got to search around Edinburgh for a golf cart battery
for my grandad who is struggling without one (they're about £70 apparently);
Payday was yesterday, so I'm stocking up for the month too.
Edit - and reading everyone else's has reminded me to pay my credit card bill today. Phew!Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
I broke my NS week yesterday, and I knew I'd have to confess on here.;)
My friend came round, I proudly prepared our meal in my new Remoska and then we Skype'd OH so she could catch up on his news too. About 40 minutes later I realised that I hadn't flicked a switch and our supper was still 1 hour away. I couldn't refuse her when she said "let's get a takeaway"
And then it kept me awake for much of the night because it was so much richer than my own cooking :rotfl:
So Good Morning
here is my list for today:
- NSD
- brought in lunch (leftovers that I stopped her tipping into the bin :eek: )
- supper is already prepared (and some for tomorrow too
) - charged phone at work
- prepare a list of things I want to do over the weekend towards my challenges.
- Skype Popeye - this is FREE so I should include it in my MS

- *think* about getting back on e-bay - I do so hate doing it, but it's the best place for some of the stuff I have to sell. Must pay my 1p invoice though.
