can i just say take a good look into the product before you buy...i bought a hp printer(1215 all in one) its very good but very expensive to run on ink..i talked to a friend at currys after who said if'd he'd have been at work the day i bought it, he would have told me not to bother...due to the fact of the price of ink...same has he said it some times (if your like me and use alot of ink) its better to pay a bit more for the printer and alot cheaper for the ink...hope this helps0

In a similar way, I always look to see which current printers have compatible cartridges that are easy to get hold of - The last 2/3 printers I have had were Epson.
For instance, HP seemed to be one of the hardest to get compatible ink cartridges for.0 -

If you are printing photos its prob best to use the "proper ink". I saw something on tv where they tested originals and compatible ink cartridges. For day to day printing they wasn't much difference but they faded a lot quicker !!Payneardo0
