last summer I started to claim using the Which form that we had been missold our endowment, we had 3 replys from the broker the final one last November advicing that because the proposal was before 29th April 1988
(7th April 1988) 3 weeks!! basically said that it was not their proplem and adviced us to contact FSA who replied with a standard letter with the same advice.
what really annoys me is the proposal was on 7th April but did not come into effect many weeks later on July 27th.

Extremely bad timing I'm afraid. End of the road it seems.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

ombudsman didnt exist at that time and cannot look at complaints prior to that date if the advising company doesnt want them to.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The FOS will deal with pre 1988 complaints about the bigger companies ( banks/BSs/insurers) who have agreed to this on a voluntary basis.IFAs usually don't agree, are there any that do?Trying to keep it simple...0
