Cleaning a Moses Basket

Hi all
Have a quick question about cleaning a moses basket and wondered whether anyone had any tips?
It's been in storage in the loft since DD grew out of it (she's now 4), but it needs a bit of a clean before baby No. 2 arrives in March. As far as I can tell, it's showing no signs of mould.
My plan was to wash with soapy water - obviously not over-wetting it - then letting it air dry (wishful thinking that this could be outside!). I'll then sterilise with a Milton solution.
But, I just wanted some advice as to whether this was the best way?
Thanks in advance.

I take it that it is a basket type one? I would use a stiff brush and really give it a good going over inside and out, then give it a blow with a hairdryer to get the dust out. After that I would use soapy water but make sure the cloth is only slightly damp and wipe over - another blow with the hairdryer then the milton again barely damp cloth and dry again - I would wait for a really dry day and let it air in the garden as well. It seems like a lot of work but cheaper than buying a new one. HTHBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

I cleaned a second hand moses basket with milton and a sponge and left to air dry. It didn't nake it go out of shape, it was fine. It might also be an idea to give it a go over first with the bristley attachment on the hoover to get rid of dust and bits. x
Congratulations of baby number 2, hope all goes well for the last couple of months xx0 -
i hoovered mine out then ran the shower over it! just washed the covers in the machine0

Thanks guys!
Good to know I'm on the right track...hopefully there'll be a couple of good clear days soon where I can air it outside without it getting (or staying) damp.
Thanks again
