We need to re - industrialise Britain.

I've been an ardant enviromentalist since I was a teenager, but I have come to the conculusion we will not be able to use less energy, and furthermore, for UK plc to prosper we must re - industrialise on a huge scale.
Climate change if it comes will have to be accepted as there is no way we are going to get people to abandon thier energy rich lifestles. Even some very vocal enviromental voices such as Poly Toynbee, once you lift the carpet you find even they have a villa in Tuscany to which they regularly fly, demonstrating reducing energy use is seemingly something for others to do, never yourself to any meaningful degree.
Re - industrialising Britain will return us to a nation of exporters, instead of a nation of hair cutters.
Can it be done?

Well, building the columns to raise the country up on to, to avoid being flooded during climate change, is a pretty big industrial project...
...maybe we could just landfill our way above the waves?0
