P87 Question

Hello
I have a company car and pay tax on a monthly basis based on my tax code - as would be expected. I also have a fuel card, but have to pay for private mileage. At the end of each month I have to register my total mileage and business mileage with the fuel card supplier. They then calculate my payment for private mileage.

They do not use a rate, e.g. 0.12p per mile, to calculate the cost based on a formula. Here is an example.
  • 1404 total miles for the month of which 768 are business
  • Total spend on diesel is £166.00
  • I'd pay £80.00'ish for private mileage based on the above
Can I still claim through the P87? If so, do I add up the payments to the fuel card supplier and add that as payments received?

I don't think I can claim, but there is no harm in asking.
Thanks
