Lorne Spicer, the presenter of money saving programme Cash in the Attic, has filed for bankruptcy, it has been reported
The 43-year-old registered her petition for bankruptcy at Southend County Court under her married name Donovan, according to The Sun.
The journalist turned television presenter has fronted a number of programmes on how to save money, including Beat the Bailiff and Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is.
Spicer, from Leigh-on-Sea in Essex, started her career as a reporter for BBC Radio Norfolk, before writing for the Mail on Sunday and presenting programmes on the BBC and ITV.
Last August she told an interviewer: "Everyone tends to store things in the attic and forget about them but there's plenty of money to be had if you know what to look out for.
"I recently cleared out mine after 14 years and although it was an absolute nightmare, I did find a few items of old bits of furniture which I sent to auction.
"Because of my job, I'm always buying lots of things so whatever I get rid of, I end up replacing with new things. But I know now exactly what I'm dealing with and I'm not wasting money unnecessarily."

She as got to be the worst presenter on earth. The way she pretends she is actualy listening to people gets me.

Glad you think so to I thoght sometimes am I being over critical but I just think if I was talking to her you could say anything and she would go "huh huh, yes,"
At least on TV if you are board try to hide it..0 -
Isn't she the one who cuts people off in the middle of a story SHE has asked them to relay?
If it's the same one, I've commented on her bad attitude loads of times. It's really noticeable.
I think it must be as I remember one episode about a lovely old lady who had had a really interetsing life and had been a dancer int he forties. The presenter asked her a question, e.g. "so what was it like amongst the rich and famous in the forties", so the lady started telling her story and got cut off by an abrupt "okay, well let's get on with it shall we'.... I was really shocked, you don't often see such bad manners from a TV presenter.I'll have some cheese please, bob.0 -
I always found her quite patronising on beat the bailiff, they need help and advice not sarcasm!I admit i used to like watching that show on BBC1 she used to do, where a family had to get their finances sorted out in a month, earn extra money etc, i started doing the odd car boot because of that.grocery challenge jan 17 £ / 350.000
