Apologies if I am slightly off topic... :p I don't want this post to turn into a war of it's own!

Have we stopped talking about the 2.99% rate and £75k income I so desperately need?? :rotfl:

I am not suggesting there is a problem with the mortgage but in relative terms, I am no higher a risk than someone that earns 5 times the amount as me with 5 times the mortgage. If I have a mortgage, for example, 5 times my salary and Joe Bloggs (who earns £75k) has a mortgage 5 times his salary than surely we are the same 'risk.'

Just because Joe Bloggs earns more than me doesn't mean he's any less of a risk!

I disagree with you actually. If all other factors are the same, Joe Bloggs has probably got a much higher disposable income than you as it is unlikely that all his other costs are 5 x yours. He may spend a bit more on food and bills but unlikely to be 5 x more.

I don't think there was a need to be nasty
    but
    I do try to practice & I don't preach
I do "appreciate where I live"

which is why I do what I do
pardon me for trying to do my bit to make the world a better place
    My post was genuine
    even if not appreciated

You guys need to appreciate more where you live........another quote from Maytaurus

Maytaurus.......All I have to say to you is practice what you preach and apply it to yourself starting by "need to appreciate more where you live"

feisty1 your username certainly suits you

But actually it was caracal_77 who said

'You guys need to appreciate more where you live.'
    and not me

so please will you disassociate me from

Can I jusat ask to get this back on topic?

Is this 75k for a single earner or for 2 earners?
Is there any reason why 50k couldnt be placed in the HSBC savings account ( for the deposit) in order to get this deal.

Im sure this will appeal to STRers and FTBs with strong deposits.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

Looks like you need a 40% deposit and £50,000 savings.
The HSBC offer is only available to customers who have more than £50,000 of savings with the bank or a £250,000 mortgage and salary of £75,000. Borrowers also need a deposit of 40% of the value of the property.
