  • Creme eggs seem to be like Wispa's when they were reintroduced in that no 2 shops have the single ones at the same price. Major variations

does the pack of 3 come with a package to hold all 3 eggs?
If so there is cost of this packaging and probably addational labour costs to assamble the pack.
So in reality it costs more due to the fact it cost more for the manufactorer to make it and thus more for tesco to sell it at.
Other shops may be cheaper, but tesco margin as a % is probably the same on both.

    Yeah right.

Funny how this appears not to apply for virtually anything else where a multipack costs less than it's individual components combined.

Its not just the eggs- check out many other multi packs of things and it often works out more expensive:

Trident Gum at tescos is 41p per pack
But for the multipack of three, same flavour, it works out to 44p each. Same store, products even mention the price per unit on the sales tag!
  • I can swallow a creme egg whole without chewing. I get mine free 'cos I always win the bet.
  • That's one thing Woolies was good at; cheap Easter eggs!! :(

Hold on til nearer Easter and you'll find 'em cheaper. And of course just after Easter, you'll get some real bargains!

    A) Thats usually because there is no point in listing a multi pack that cost than a individual unit.
    B) look at christmas variety packs of chocolates costing more than buying the chocolate bar seperatly.
    C) the card box the eggs are will cost more in packaging cost than them selling the product loose.
    D) we do not know volume information of the product.
    E) the increase labour rate of packing the eggs in to boxes of 3 rather than selling them loose
    F) besides christmas packs if you look around shops there are quite a few products than its better deals to buy in smaller pack sizes.
    G) the mutli save offer may soon go pushing the cost back up to being more than the box. There are numerous roll back, mutli saves that can work out cheaper for a short peroid of time.
