HMV Buys Zavvi Stores

Options
So, HMV are buying 9 zavvi stores in the UK. Does anyone know which ones yet?

I reckon 6 of them will be:
loughborough
hereford
taunton
camberley
dartford
hastings
as these are the 6 places where Zavvi has a store but HMV does not.

Thoughts?

    According to MCV, it's:
    Bournemouth Castlepoint (18 staff)
    Crewe (12)
    Glasgow Fort (23)
    Glasgow Silverburn (20)
    Peterborough (20)
    Plymouth (Drake Circus) (23)
    Salisbury (16)
    Southend (15)
    Stockton-on-Tees (12)

    ...plus 5 stores in Ireland.

    ZAVVI STORES BOUGHT BY HMV:
    • Bournemouth Castlepoint
    • Crewe
    • Dundalk
    • Dundrum
    • Glasgow Fort
    • Glasgow Silverburn
    • Liffey Valley
    • Limerick
    • Newbridge
    • Peterborough
    • Plymouth (Drake Circus)
    • Salisbury
    • Southend
    • Stockton-on-Tees
  • We already have an HMV in Southend, I think the Zavvi store is larger
than the HMV one, so I wonder which one they might keep open.

I guess that HMV would not have bought the Zavvi store if it intended to keep the other one open as it is only around the corner but smaller and a reasonable walk from the High Street so passing trade may not know it is there.

You dont really need a music and games store these days though - buy online from play.com or HMV online.

I knew Zavvi would struggle as soon as they appeared. Stupid name too, imo.

That much is certainly true of the ones being bought out, HMV will do their best to retain the current staff.
