Norttern Rock

Have a look at the first page of the KFI given to you by Abbey - it states the Completion end date. Is this date after your Northern Rock extra 6 months ends? If it is, delay completion until then - if not, then there is a possibility of changing your deal with Abbey to a later Completion end date - it will cost you £199 fee to change the deal, but would be cheaper than paying the £1k early repayment charge to Northern Rock. It may even mean that you get an even lower fixed rate - You may also have another product fee with Abbey, but there are also some new Fixed Rate deals with no set up fee - depends on your loan to value.I am a Mortgage Adviser

you seem to be a bit annoyed by this for some reason let me inform you,- As I stated I have added this in the forum to inform other people to be aware of this "help with costs" that runs 6months longer than a 3 year fixed deal
- I am no "diy armchair advisor" but have spoken to three different advisors in the banks I have approached before making my decision
- You are stating that you have been in a discussions with one of the biggest lenders who are informing people of changing there accounts etc, then surely this is another example of lenders misguiding joe public, why don't you name and shame the lender so other people do not make the same mistake

2. You have gone to A bank, limiting yr choices (i.e. Honda Garage/Honda Car) .......in these banks many of the people who arrange mortgages are not advisers, clients presume they are. If I had dealt with you, knowing u had a NR mortgage, my first question would have been around HWC's and if tied in for 6 months, would have given best advice as to how to work around this, as I would hope any other independent advisor would do.
3. If I was to post on here, they are about to release 78 billion of depositors money to fund all these direct deals, the service is appalling and the wait is approx 12 weeks.........This site would crash due to the amount of people who would be posting "sour grapes" posts, as I would be seen to be bitter as it is not business myself or any of the advising community deal with.0
