what does "opt in" mean on the lightbulb one, I don't want to tick it incase they enter me into a contract or something

"Opt in" means you agree to being on their mailing list and / or that they can send your details to other companies for them to send you info as well. You don't need to tick the box in order to be sent the lightbulb.0
