Put it on last night and it sent off all the electrics
And the soup was orrible! Still never mind,
I am having curry for supper, is it worth doing this in the slow cooker? Its just a jar of sauce and chicken? Normally only takes a wee while on the stove, any help appreciated.

i always put chicken and jar sauce in slow cooker as im out all day at work and it means its ready when i get in, i dont evn cut up the chicken i just put whole chicken breast in SC and leave it. The sauce tends to go quite thin (i think this is due to the moisture from the chicken) but the chicken is lovely and practically falls apart when you put a fork through it. I always add a tin or packt of chick pea dahl to thicken the sauce about half an hour before serving, mmmmm lovely and still enough left to freeze for following week.
serve with microwaved popadoms and wild rice0 -
aww - poor you - what a disappointment.
What sort of soup was it? I have to admit I only made soup in my SC once - I think it contained cabbage or other cruciferous veg and waking to the smell of sulphourous veg is not niceHave to say, that despite my best efforts, I couldn't eat it and had to bin it.
Try doing a meat based dish in the SC. You may find that much better and this will encourage you to keep using it. And remember, that it will take a little while to get used to cooking with a SC - you will have some disasters along the way, but once you get the hang of it - there'll be no looking back
Re your supper - I have done this type of meal both ways. It depends on how much time I have and what else I'm doing at the time, but it can be done in the SC. Just remember that if there's only a very small amount of food in the base of a large SC, this might make it stick, so a pan would be easier from this point of view.0 -
Here is the complete SC thread, from the mega index, some very good ideas here!!! http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=131302
