The time taken for an overdue account to have a summons issued on it will vary from authority to authority. Some issue summonses monthly, others less often. Ask your council will they put a hold on recovery if you pay the £82 per month, they can usually tell who are the honest ones and who are just trying to avoid paying.0

They emailed back saying they will continue the hold for 3 weeks only... so now I just have to pray the university don't screw us...Kavanne

I just received an email from the council saying thanks for providing proof and that a refund cheque of £119 is awaiting supervisor approval....?! So now they think they owe me money... I'm not going to dispute this, if it arrives it's going straight into savings!!Kavanne
