Mortgage problem with shared ownership

Hi I found a place with a HA with shared ownsership, the problem lies in the mortgage offer. My HA's solicitors don't like the wording on it as it doesnt say that i'm buying exactly 50% share. We were not told this had to be the case before I arranged the mortgage and my mortgage lender has said that they haven't got any reason to change it. This has made me extremely frustrated as I could have moved in by now if everything had gone smoothly but now have a problem as I'm off on holiday and only have a week in my rented flat when I get back. Who is in the wrong here?
