Free Smashing Pumpkins Album (MP3s) - MACHINA II

For all those Smashing Pumpkins fans out there, I thought I'd post up the link to their last album, "MACHINA II/the friends and enemies of modern music" that was actually not released on the Virgin label, but Billy Corgan (their lead singer, for those not in the know) has put them up on his website for download for free.

Even though a long-time fan myself, I had not come across MACHINA II until just recently.

According to various sources, Virgin didn't want to release this album so close to their last official CD release "MACHINA/The Machines of God" in 2000, so the Pumpkins basically ditched Virgin there and then.

25 vinyl copies were made of MACHINA II, and given out to friends and family of the band, where the band asked all recipients to spread as many copies out for free. You will find that the MP3's on Billy Corgan's website aren't the best quality as the band insisted on any electronic recordings being straight off the vinyls.
