2 Q's - CFAIS & Guarentors

Hi,

I have two questions - firstly, I am having trouble getting the money together for br. It has been known for people to pay for their fees but any means of credit already avail i.e credit cards which does get overlooked by the OR. I have had a loan co approach me offering me a loan but I need a guarentor. What would the implication be here? Would the guar. be liable if I used money for br fees?

Also, my sister is thinking of going br, but has a cifas alert on her credit file. She took out a car hp, got into an argument with hp co because they wouldn't change dd date which was set BEFORE her wages went in, though dealer put on forms the day after & conf that this would be ok. DD failed, the co wanted dd payment +£100 charges... So she told them to stuff it and come and collect the car. Which they did. She had it exactly 33 days.

Thanks in adv.

  • HI,

But does anyone have any ideas about the CFAIS? My sister hasn't spoken to any of the charities yet, so one of them may have answer.

Any ideas would be greatly received.

  • Opps! Don't know what happened there. the first part of my msg has disappeared. Just to sy that I found out answer re guarentor, so I've dismissed that idea. The only other option we have is to do 1 br this mth & the other next month. If I put the money aside, I know it will get broken into... Just need to avoid the jt debts in the meantime.

  • Hi Miss Spooky, I don't think having a CIFAS mark on her credit file will make any difference to going BR, but she may have trouble getting a bank account. That's something perhaps she should sort before, even if she doesn't use it.

If you took the loan it would be included in your BR and they would then claim money back from the guarntor.

Sorry, not sure on CIFAS so can;t help with that.
